We are excited to embark on our third year of reading through the Bible in 36 hours. We are joining in, like we did previous years, with The Stirring Church in Redding, CA. Every year God has shown up and created such a special time of communing with His word, and His Spirit. Join us in reading and experiencing the Lord through His written word.

What is The Like a Fire Event?

We have split the reading of the bible into 72, 30-minute time slots. We need you sign up for one reading slot and then show up and read. Many sign up for multiple slots over the 36 hrs! All readings are done on the campus of Presence & Pacific Point churches. The reading is Live and out loud so that the city can hear it and be healed. There are momentous places in the Bible where God’s people have gathered and publicly read the Word of God to the city. It always heralds in a new season or move of God. Be looking for how God will use this time of partnership and valuing the Word, as a way of writing your story and the story of the Church!

How to Begin:

To begin, just follow the sign-up button below and choose a time to read. If you have a specific part of the bible that you want to read, follow the “Reading Plan” link below to see what time slot will be reading that section of the Bible.

Kids:

We have new directions for Kids that want take part: We are having kids sign up in normal 30 minute slot instead of last year’s 15 minute slots. The parent or guardian who brought the child will be responsible for whatever the child doesn’t read. If the child reads for 15 minutes, then the guardian will read the other 15 minutes. Or you can have two kids share a time slot.

Worship:

We will be hosting a time of worship at the ending of the Book of Revelation at 8pm on Thursday night. It is a powerful time of honoring what God is doing through His word in our communities and cities!
