10 points to help in your marriage

Glen and I have been married for nearly 36yrs. That’s a while. We are now in that bracket when people ask us, “what’s your best advice for marriage?”

Here are 10 things (we have more if you want it), that we have found useful.

1.     Have a mentor or two in your marriage to talk through little or big stuff – get help when you need it… do not delay in this!

2.     Keep talking… about everything - even if it’s hard.

3.     Always be kind with words and deeds.

4.     Listen hard and repeat back what they said to you so you fully understand.

5.     Let things go (does it really matter if he drops his clothes by his bed or she leaves cups of tea everywhere?) Decide which hill you are going to die on!

6.     Have mercy and grace.

7.     Be on the same page in bringing up your children.

8.     Have fun and laugh a lot.

9.     Have adventures… whether big or small.

10.  Last but definitely not least, pray for each other, everyday. Pray against satan getting in there to destroy. Declare into your spouse what God says about them. Pray for their dreams and passions.
